Sheet music in your browser: the web app, and Chromebooks

SheetScroll runs in your browser at app.sheetscroll.com, in Chrome, Edge or Firefox, and installs like an app. It reads your PDFs and scans and turns the page two beats before the end, never early. Open it in Chrome on a Chromebook. The reader is free; listening is Pro, bought as a license key.

Why use the web app?

Sometimes you cannot install anything. A school laptop locks the install, a friend's computer is borrowed, or you only want to look at a score before you commit. A web app opens in a browser tab and needs nothing from you.

The web app is the same SheetScroll: app.sheetscroll.com.

Which browsers work?

  • Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
  • On a Chromebook: open the web app in Chrome.
  • Installable: like an app, so it sits in your launcher.

If your browser is not on that list, open the app in one that is.

What can you do in the browser?

  • Read your music: PDFs, photos, MusicXML, MuseScore, Guitar Pro, MIDI, ABC, MEI, Humdrum, chord charts and text tabs.
  • Listen: SheetScroll follows piano, keyboards, strings, woodwinds, brass, voice and guitar, through the microphone.
  • Turn pages: two beats before the end, never early. When it is unsure, it holds the page and outlines the places it is choosing between.
  • Mark up: pencil, highlighter, fingerings and symbols that stay with their bars.
  • Set up the night: setlists, and chord charts you can transpose.
  • Play together: follow a leader’s device, which turns your pages with the band.

Sound is analyzed on the device as it arrives, and it is never recorded, stored or sent. There is no account.

How do I set up the web app on a stand?

  1. Open app.sheetscroll.com in Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
  2. Allow the microphone when the browser asks. If you said no, change it in the browser's site settings.
  3. Add your music with Add, then Files, Folder or Scan pages.
  4. Pair a Bluetooth page-turn pedal in your system's Bluetooth settings. Most pedals send Page Down, Page Up, the arrow keys or Space, which work as they are.
  5. Use the install option in your browser to add SheetScroll to the launcher.

What should I check before a performance?

  • Keep the tab in front. SheetScroll listens through the microphone while the score is open and the app is in front.
  • Test the microphone. Allow it once, play the first page, and watch the highlight follow you.
  • Have a backup turn. A pedal press or a tap always wins over listening, and Turn by hand is in the page's controls.
  • Know where Pro lives. The license key goes in Settings > SheetScroll Pro, and one key works on up to three devices.

The web app has no account and no tracking, and the music you open stays on your device.

What is free in the browser, and what is Pro?

The reader is free forever, with every format and view, annotations, setlists, pedal or tap turns and the eight courses. Pro adds listening and automatic turns for your own music: $5.99 a month, $29.99 a year with the first 2 weeks free, or $79.99 once.

In the browser, Pro is a license key. Enter it in Settings > SheetScroll Pro > Enter License Key. A key works on up to three devices; Remove from This Device frees a place.
