Who and where
These terms are an agreement between you and Spencer Churchill, the individual developer who makes and sells SheetScroll (“we”, “us”). They cover the SheetScroll app on Android, Windows, macOS, Linux and the web, and SheetScroll Pro bought on Google Play or from Polar.
On iPhone and iPad, and for Pro bought in Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard license agreement applies instead of these terms, together with the App Store’s own terms.
Your license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use SheetScroll on devices you own or control, for your own music making, teaching and performing.
SheetScroll includes open-source software, listed with its licenses in the app (Settings → Acknowledgments). Each part comes to you under its own license, and nothing in these terms limits what those licenses allow, including modifying such parts and debugging or reverse-engineering the app to do so. Apart from that, please don’t resell SheetScroll or get around the checks that unlock Pro.
SheetScroll Pro
The reader is free for good. Pro adds listening and automatic page turns. The plans, in US dollars plus any tax where you live:
- Monthly: $5.99 a month.
- Yearly: $29.99 a year, with a 2-week free trial for new subscribers.
- Lifetime: $79.99 once. It covers Pro for as long as SheetScroll sells Pro, and keeps working in the versions you have after that.
If a subscription ends while you are playing, the open piece keeps following you to its end; listening stops before the next one.
Buying, renewals and cancellation
- Android from Google Play: Pro is sold by Google Play under Google Play’s terms. Manage or cancel it in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
- Computers, the web, and Android installed from our website: Pro is sold by Polar, our reseller and the merchant of record, under Polar’s terms. Polar takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, and sends the receipt and your license key. Manage or cancel it in the app (Settings → Manage Subscription) or from the link in your receipt.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price you agreed to, until you cancel. Canceling stops the next renewal; Pro lasts until the end of the period you paid for. A free trial turns into a paid Yearly subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then, and each person gets one free trial.
License keys
A license key from Polar is for you. Use it on your own devices, up to the number of devices the key allows (devices that share your synced library don’t count); Settings → Remove from This Device frees a place, and so does the customer portal. Please don’t share or sell keys. A key stops unlocking Pro when its subscription ends or its purchase is refunded, and works again if you renew.
Refunds
If Pro isn’t right for you, write to us within 14 days of a purchase from Polar and we will refund it in full, no questions asked; after that, refunds are at our discretion. Purchases on Google Play are refunded under Google Play’s policies, and you can ask us too. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
Your music
The scores you bring in, your markings and the recordings you add stay yours, and stay on your devices (see the privacy policy). You are responsible for having the right to use the music you import. The courses in the app use public-domain music.
No warranty
We work hard to make SheetScroll follow you reliably, but it can be wrong: it may turn a page early or late, or not at all. Keep a way to turn pages yourself (a tap or a pedal) when it matters. SheetScroll is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for Pro in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date above changes when we do, and a change applies from then on, never to a period you already paid for. If a change would raise the price of your subscription, your store or Polar tells you first, and you can cancel before it applies.
