What is the rule?
The page turns two beats before its end. That is when your eyes reach for the next line, so the new page is there when you need it.
SheetScroll does not scroll at a set speed. It listens for where you are in the music, so it waits when you slow down, stop or go back. When it is unsure, it holds the page rather than guess.
How do I turn earlier or later?
- Open Settings → View and turns, or tap the page in a score and open View and turns.
- Find Turns, then Turn early by.
- Choose the unit, Bars or Beats, and set the amount. Turn earlier and Turn later nudge it.
- Play a few bars and see how it feels.
Each score can change these settings for itself, so a slow hymn and a fast etude can differ.
What about half-page turns and other views?
Turns work in every view. Under View, choose Automatic, One page, Two pages, Half-page turns, Line by line, Focus or Bars re-wrapped. In Half-page turns, a page moves in halves, and the status line reads, for example, Page 3 (top half).
Repeats are followed too: repeat signs, first and second endings, D.S. and coda.
How do pedals and taps work?
- Pair the pedal in your device’s Bluetooth settings.
- Open a score and press the pedal.
- If nothing happens, go to Settings → Pedals and keyboard and press the pedal when it says Press a pedal or key for Next page. Do the same for Previous page.
- Use Test your pedal to check it. Reset keys brings back the defaults.
Most pedals work as they are, sending Page Down and Page Up, the arrow keys or Space. Pedals work alongside listening. Your pedal and taps always win, and each press tells SheetScroll where you are. For choosing a pedal, see the pedal guide.
How do I turn the pages myself?
Tap the page for the controls, then choose ⋯ → Turn by hand. The setting is Turn pages automatically in Settings → View and turns. When it is off, you turn the pages. When it’s time to turn lets the corner curl, or curl and vibrate.
Turn automatically comes back the same way.
What if a turn was wrong?
When the player asks Turned too early? or Turned too late?, tap Report. You can also tap the page for the controls and choose ⋯ → Report a turn. The report holds what SheetScroll decided in the last minute, never audio, and stays on your device until you send it.
Questions
Why did the page not turn?
SheetScroll holds the page when it is not sure where you are. Keep playing, tap the bar you are on, or press your pedal. The status line shows whether it is Following, Not sure or Searching.
Do pedals need Pro?
No. Page turns by pedal or tap are in the free reader. Automatic turns are part of Pro.
Can I get more warning than two beats?
Yes. Turn early by in Settings → View and turns sets more or less warning, in bars or beats.
Does a pedal press confuse listening?
No. A press tells SheetScroll where you are, and the two work together.
