Why people look for a MobileSheets alternative
MobileSheets is a paid PDF manager on Android, Windows and Apple devices. People move to SheetScroll for these reasons:
- They want the page to turn by listening instead of with a pedal, a face gesture or timed auto-scroll.
- They play on Linux or want a reader in a web browser; MobileSheets lists neither.
- They want a free reader without a song limit; MobileSheets' Android trial holds 8 songs.
- They read MusicXML, MuseScore or Guitar Pro files as well as PDFs.
SheetScroll does all four, and brings your MobileSheets library with it.

What SheetScroll does better
SheetScroll turns the page for you. With Pro it listens for where you are in the music, through the microphone or a digital piano over USB or Bluetooth MIDI, and turns two beats before the end of the page. It waits when you slow down, stop or go back, which a scroll at a set speed cannot.
- Never early: when two passages sound alike, it holds the page and outlines the places it is choosing between, until the music tells them apart.
- Repeats and jumps: repeat signs, first and second endings, D.S. and coda are followed.
- Instruments: piano, keyboards, strings, woodwinds, brass, voice and guitar, tab included.
- Pedals still work: a pedal press or a tap always wins, and tells SheetScroll where you are.
- Play together: one device listens and everyone's pages turn with it over Wi-Fi; only the leader needs Pro.
- Practice: loop the hard bars, practice hands separately, and see your tempo history.
- Chord charts: transpose, set a capo or switch to Nashville numbers, lyrics lined up.
The free reader opens every format, with every view, annotations, setlists, pedal turns and eight courses for learning an instrument. Sound is analyzed on the device and never recorded, there is no account, and it works offline.
What MobileSheets adds
MobileSheets' own site also lists:
- Up to 20 library fields, 10 ways to sort, filtering and voice search.
- MIDI over USB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to load songs, sync keyboard registrations and trigger actions.
- Configurable buttons and link points to jump around a score.
- Annotation layers, stamps and audio files attached to songs (.mp3, .m4a, .wav, .flac).
- One tablet controlling others, and book mode across two paired tablets.
- Face gestures and scrolling at a set speed as well as pedals, and an e-ink edition for Android e-ink tablets.
Moving a MobileSheets library
SheetScroll reads the CSV files MobileSheets uses for its own CSV import: keep each CSV next to its PDF, with the same name, and add the folder through Add → From another app. Titles, composers, tags and setlists come across, and page ranges in a book become separate pieces.
Step by step: Move from forScore or MobileSheets.

Questions
Is there a free alternative to MobileSheets?
SheetScroll's reader is free forever with no song limit: every format, every view, annotations, setlists and pedal turns. Listening and automatic page turns are SheetScroll Pro.
Does MobileSheets turn pages automatically?
MobileSheets lists automatic scrolling, face gestures, pedals and MIDI messages. It doesn't list turning pages by listening to you play.
Is MobileSheets available on Linux?
MobileSheets lists macOS, iOS, Android and Windows. SheetScroll has .deb, .rpm and AppImage packages for Linux, x64 and Arm, and also runs in Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
Can I keep my MobileSheets tags and setlists?
Yes. SheetScroll reads MobileSheets' CSV files and brings titles, composers, tags and setlists across with your PDFs.
Does SheetScroll work with my page-turn pedal?
Yes. Most Bluetooth pedals work as they are, alongside listening, and a pedal press always wins.
